STANDARD MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

Education: First University degree in Electrical Engineering or related discipline. Hold or be eligible for Accreditation to “Professional Engineer” or “Chartered Engineer” status, or recognised equivalent by an appropriate national or international regulatory authority.

Language: International Professional: Fluency (level C) in English language. Intermediate knowledge (level B) of a second official UN language: Arabic, Chinese, French, Russian, Spanish, and/or WFP’s working language, Portuguese.

National Professional: Fluency (level C) in English language and the duty station’s language, if different.

JOB PURPOSE

To provide construction and engineering expertise and contribute to the efficient delivery and quality outputs.

KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES (NOT ALL-INCLUSIVE)

1. Conduct remote and onsite assessments of the electrical distribution systems in WFP Cameroon premises and assist in the preparation of scope of works and tender documents, project bills of quantities (BoQs), cost estimates and developing work specifications for the implementation of the works.

2. Carry out and coordinate electrical works in the CO and FOs, including commissioning installation of electrical distribution systems and power sources.

3. Manage and conduct analyses of project proposals to ensure business case and technical feasibility and that project objectives are attainable within prescribed resources.

4. Undertake electro-mechanical designs, layouts and details in engineering CAD software, participate in designs, design reviews, reading and interpreting of technical drawings, proposals, specifications, schematics.

5. Conduct site assessments, provide preliminary solar system designs and make recommendation for migrations to renewable energy at CO and FOs.

6. Oversee installation of solar systems and ensure quality of the works. • Liaise with third party companies (contractors, suppliers, etc.), and supervise the electrical works on site.

7. Participate in the design installation and commissioning of Heat, Ventilation and Air conditioning (HVAC) systems and prepare regular maintenance measures.

8. Comply with internal structure of the CO when implementing construction works. • Report to CO Project Team and Architect when requested on progress, issues etc.

9. Be ready to be assigned to different project locations within the same city/country and follow contemporary more than one project. • Ensure that preventive maintenance measures are conducted on electrical systems at the WFP CO and all FOs.

10. Any other task as may be assigned from time to time
